About NHS Bands Pay

NHS Bands Pay is an independent information website that explains NHS pay in plain English. We publish the current Agenda for Change pay bands, hourly rates, overtime and unsocial hours enhancements, London weighting, and the allowances and leave entitlements that make up total NHS reward.

We are not part of the NHS. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or acting on behalf of the National Health Service, NHS Employers, any NHS trust, or any trade union. Our role is to read the official pay circulars and handbooks so you do not have to — and to present what they say accurately, with the source named every time.

How we work

Every salary figure on this site is checked against the official NHS Employers Agenda for Change pay circular for the current pay year before it is published. When a new pay award is announced by the NHS Pay Review Body, we update our tables, label the pay year clearly, and show the date each page was last reviewed.

Where the rules differ between England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland, we say so explicitly rather than presenting one nation's figures as UK-wide.

Corrections

Pay guidance changes, and occasionally we get something wrong. If you spot an error, contact us and we will check it against the official source and correct it, noting the correction date on the page. See our editorial policy for the full verification process.
